Testimonial by Peter Nguafac Temate Fongeh about "Engaging Men in Gender Equality"

This testimonial was written by Peter Nguafac Temate Fongeh, a participant in the training, Engaging Men for Gender Equality with Dr. Piotr Pawlak. Sign up for the next session of this training here.

With a decade of skills in community engagement, I decided to develop and gain skills in facilitation. In what field, I keep asking myself.  Passionate about bridging the information gap on sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) among young people through community advocacy, I saw the need for how gender equality could help promote SRHR and decided to build my skills in 'Engaging Men for Gender Equality'.

It was an amazing opportunity that gave me the chance to learn from a fantastic trainer. It was an opportunity to challenge my thoughts and skills on how things are done, how programmes are aligned, how trainings are structured, and how I engage with the whole community on issues of gender equality.

My highlight was the tools used to measure changes in masculinity norms. Dr. Pawlak’s approach to the training and the case study were from a practical point of view because he customized the material to address the diversity of participants and their experiences.
