Training Prices, Discounts, and Scholarships

1. Do your trainings cost money?

Yes. We do not receive any donor funding and so the course fees pay for our labor. We offer a sliding scale for fees and discounted rates so that people with less money pay less than people with more money.

2. Why do you charge fees?

We charge fees to pay for our time and labor to deliver you a high-quality course in a small-group format. We do not receive any donor funding.

3. How much do the trainings cost?

Each course is priced differently depending on the length of the course. The cost for each training is found on that course webpage.

4. Why do some people pay more than others to attend a training?

We use a redistributive pricing model where organizations and individuals with more resources pay more than organizations and individuals with less resources. We need individuals from well-resourced organizations or who earn several hundred USD a day in consulting to pay more so that the individuals from under-resourced organizations or who are under-paid because of global wealth inequality can pay less. If you are paying for Tier 1 or Tier 2 rate, your fee is not just paying for you – it is paying for others who have less resources than you to be able to participate.

5. I am an independent consultant. What Tier do I qualify for?

Independent consultants generally fit into the Tier 2 category. You can apply for a Tier 3 scholarship, but those are limited and there is no guarantee you will be selected.

6. Do you offer scholarships?

Yes, we offer partial scholarships for students, early career professionals, financial need, and accessibility accommodation. Because we receive no donor funding, scholarships are limited. We need multiple registrations at the Tier 1 and Tier 2 rate in order to offer scholarships.

7. Can I get a scholarship to attend multiple courses?

Scholarship are limited and so we rarely give individuals more than one scholarship in a one year period.

8. Do you offer group discounts?

For groups, we offer Group Learning Packages that include discounts as well as ongoing learning support, which you can learn more about here. Please email us at trainings@cynara.co if you are interested.

9. I would like to attend multiple courses. How much does it cost for me to attend multiple courses?

It depends on the courses and your Tier. Please email us and let us at trainings@cynara.co know what Tier applies to you. Please note that you cannot receive more than one scholarship for a Tier 3 or Tier 4 rate in a one-year period.

10.  My organization/employer will not pay for me to attend the training. What Tier applies to me?

First, we encourage you to use this letter template to request funding from your employer.

If your employer still will not pay your fee, then you are fit in Tier 2. You can apply for a Tier 3 or Tier 4 scholarship, but those are limited and there is no guarantee you will be selected.

10.  What is your cancellation policy?

You are eligible for a partial refund of no more than 90% of your payment if you make the request in writing via email more than fourteen (14) business days prior to the training. Please read our terms and conditions for more information about our cancellation policy.

As of now, all our trainings are conducted virtually and live. If you are interested in an in-person training, please contact us at trainings@cynara.co.

2. What training software do you use?

This depends on the trainer. Most trainers use Zoom to deliver trainings, plus other apps to facilitate interactive sessions.

But they are not required to record the sessions.
